Expo Dubai 2020, is one of the trade fairs and business platforms developed worldwide, where each country has the possibility to show its identity and its investment offer. In 2019, a bidding process opens for the architectural development of the pavilion that will represent Colombia in this event.
The proposal for a structure is then developed, designed to be a setting that allows its visitors to enjoy the different experiences that the Colombian territory offers throughout the year, connecting with the country through a journey at the rhythm of the regions and their traditions. : “Colombia, the rhythm that connects the future”
The Pavilion architecturally consists of a volume composed of three levels with a total height of 15 meters. It houses commercial, business and service areas; These are in turn linked by 4 interior gardens located on the side facades. The volume is covered by a double fabric facade that represents a characteristic element of Colombia, the vueltiao hat, through the imitation of its patterns and its fabric. Sustainability is a quality to highlight in the design of this pavilion, which once it fulfills its function will be dismantled and reused for the generation of vertical crops and recreational parks.
